November 28 through December 4

Happy Advent! We hope that you've had a great first week of the Advent season and have managed to keep the Frenzy of the Season at bay.

This Sunday, we'll be shifting focus a little from last week's service on hope to meditations on Mary, the Mother of God. There is just enough in the Bible about Mary to make her an important character, but interpretations of who she is and what she is meant to represent have varied widely throughout different Christian traditions. Beginning with a meditation on the Magnificat, we'll be meditating on the various images and ideas of Mary that we've been exposed to, and on what Mary means to us... or whether she means anything at all.

Also, don't forget that on Saturday, December 10th, we'll be having our annual Christmas party/gingerbread extravaganza/chili cook-off from 4-8pm at the Fairfax Railroad Museum.

Wishing all a peaceful season of Advent,
Amy Moffitt
